As a Malaysian and human being, I feel sad and angry after reading an article in the Umno's official homepage . It is rhetorically and seditiously titled "Mogok Lapar Anwar Ikut Budaya Islam Atau Budaya Hindu" (Anwars hunger strike follows Islamic culture or Hinduism?), and penned in Malay by one Fadzil Abd Rashid.

It is a classic example of how dirty, seditious and socially irresponsible propaganda is used with impunity by the politically bankrupt Umno, against its opponents and legitimate dissents. It is also highly divisive, and shows the intolerance and exclusivity of Umno's brand of Islam. Why is the police not taking action against Umno for causing inter-ethnic and inter-religious disrespect, suspicion and mistrust? What is Home Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi doing?

It is time the international community, foreign governments in civilised and democratic countries, civil libertarians and the opposition parties in Malaysia to actively and continuously monitor publications controlled by Umno. This type of dirty propaganda must be exposed and condemned unequivocally.
