Right or wrong, Khalid Jafri seems to be the only Malaysian who dares to openly defy Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad. After being condemned by Mahathir on his allegations against Azalina Othman, Khalid Jafri backed down, but only to announce that he is publishing a book titled Bukti Azalina Lesbian (Proofs of Azalina's a lesbian). It is an open challenge to the authority and legitimacy of Mahathir's government.

It would be interesting to see if the book would be circulated in Umno's coming party assembly.

The political question is who is Khalid Jafri? What type of forces in or outside Umno's backing him to defy Mahathir so publicly and so openly. Why is Mahathir so seemingly 'soft' with him? Does he have a 'hold' on many top Umno leaders that he's untouchable as speculated by many parties?

For the last three years, has Umno been in fact ruled by Khalid Jafri, a man whom Azalina called a "deviant" who has "no other work to do".
