Congratulations and thank you very much for your help in the release of Aung San Su Kyi from house arrest and apparent progress you made in the reconciliation and for a change to democracy in Burma. Please don't misunderstand that I am ungrateful but kindly allow me to ask few questions.

I have learned that your honour is the chairman and 30 percent owner of Iris Technologies, a Malaysian firm operating under the auspices of the government, and have signed a deal with the junta to supply Burma with 5,000 electronic passports.

Could you kindly answer whether the military junta have asked to put in your Iris programme to automatically reject all the applications for passports by Muslim Burmese though I am quite sure that the military junta would probably scrutinise and reject all the applications first.

I am proud and thankful that you have had held discussions with the military junta, Aung San Su Kyi, National League for Democracy, ethnic minorities and Kachin Baptist Council. Kindly please talk to some of the Muslim Burmese on your next visit.

I hope you will look into the Burmese military government's blanket rejection of all new passports for all Muslims in Burma. I heard the interview on BBC where Burmese authorities claimed that they rejected the Muslim Burmese applications because they were not citizens. Many have been citizens for at least four five generations.
