I beg to differ with Mohd Afral Abdullah who wrote

that the forthcoming meeting between Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Pope Paul is not "extraordinary" and the public or media should not be over-excited in reacting to Mahathir's latest comments on his maiden visit to the Vatican City.

Notwithstanding the true identity of Mohd Afral Abdullah, — whether he is a true Malaysian or perhaps a foreigner in disguise — we as 'Malaysian loyalists' should have the highest respect for Mahathir in his efforts to influence the global thinking of the other world leaders on the current hot issue between the various factions in the Palestinian-Israelis feud which has remained an international community problem.

I am of the view that the forthcoming visit by Mahathir to the Vatican is indeed a global achievement by an Asian leader to reach out to the Pope, so that the true problems between the Palestinians and the Israelis could be resolved, perhaps through the timely intervention of the highly respected Pope Paul. Contrary to the opinion expressed by Mohd Afral, I urge that the international media as well as the Malaysian media view Mahathir's visit to the Vatican in a positive and constructive manner and not be exploited with their own political agenda.
