I strongly disagree with LCH's letter which said we should Praise leaders for broaching meritocracy"

I think LCH neglected the fact that both Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his second in command, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, have always been part and parcel of the ideology of Ketuanan Melayu (Malay supremacy), Umno and affirmative actions in the past decades.

The leaders LCH praises so unabashedly have merely relaxed a bit of the oppressive measures without dismantling the entire system. The letter betrays a slavish mentality disguised in ultra-capitalist principles. As long as the 'supremacist' attitude is not removed, there is nothing to praise.
