I wish to thank Ajmel Hafiz, for his comment

to my views on 10 percent quota for non-bumiputras in Mara Junior Science College or MRSM. I stand corrected on my facts.

But the gist of my view remains, that is, it is of no use to open up 10 percent quota for non-bumiputras in MJSC, and then insist on similar quota at private colleges and universities for bumiputras.

My contention is, to level the playing fields throughout, and open up entrance to all races, in local public and private education institutions. As Hafiz has rightly pointed out, there are so many bright and intelligent bumiputra students 'languishing' in cocooned government schools — which is a shame.

Let them compete head-on with other races, and I am sure the whole nation will benefit. The cream of our students will be the toast of the nation, if healthy and true competition is allowed to prevail.

Lastly, for the sake of the nation well-being, removeall political tactics or strategies (long-term or short-term) from educational institutions. Playing such games in these schools will harm the potential of our bright students, whether they are bumiputras or non-bumiputras.

Let the mind matures sufficiently before confronting real life issues.
