Muslims in Umno and PAS as well as their supporters must stop their fight. If they want to prove who is more Islamic, they should just follow the Quran and be good Muslims.

Disagreement is good. It challenges the minds to seek the truth. Lawyers fight their case by presenting their points and evidence based on the law. Muslims who are in dispute should do the same. The outcome shall be progressive.

But fighting and arguing by calling each other names — Taliban, extremist, infidels, Mahazalim — will lead to disunity and this is clearly forbidden in Islam.

The latest incident aired on RTM is really shameful. Even if PAS spiritual leader and Kelantan Menteri Besar Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat has really mouthed the derogatory terms as alleged, RTM should not have aired it again and again. It is disgusting that both parties have really brought themselves so low.

Both parties and their followers must simply stop their un-Islamic behavior before it gets worse. People are not ignorant nor blind to the fact that their constant harangue in their bid to "win the hearts and minds" of the people is among the most un-Islamic acts we can see today.

Their actions are totally unnecessary. I am just interested in knowing who is going to provide this country with an accountable government at the local level, who is going to provide peace and security for my family against rapists, child molesters, thieves, kidnappers, unsafe drivers, illegal foreigners, etc. I do not care one twitch who is more Islamic in the political system.

The Quran does provide guidance and solution, but if PAS or Umno does not refer to it in order to settle their disputes, as clearly evident in their acts, then they should drop this fight of who is more Islamic.
