Chinese and Indian Malaysians have no right to challenge Malay rights at all. They are just immigrants invited to stay in Malaysia and as such, should be grateful that they are living in a country that is governed by a race that is considerate about their welfare and issues.

It is true that we needed them to develop our plantations and minefields when we invited them over but in return we gave them residency in Malaysia, education, protection by our Malay soldiers, and generally peace to continue practising their own cultures.

I do not think there is any other race besides the Malays who have been more kind, generous and considerate of the needs of other people. Such are our traits that are culturally ingrained in our roots and social upbringing.

Yet, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad wants us to change our culture by removing the "crutches" so that we can be successful like the other races.

The Malay rights must be there for us as much as Dr M believes in the need to maintain the Internal Security Act to counter terrorist activities.
