Like many Malaysians living abroad, I have come to treasure the freedom of expression elsewhere. It seems to me that the RM100 a year is a small price to pay for high quality news, with a good forum for exchange of views thrown in.

Though websites abound that offer news free of charge, there are not many that truly provide news that matters.

It is my hope that many will respond to the call and support for your fledgling publication. In time and as the groundswell of support grows, I can see that more personnel and resources will be added that will bring about improved and expanded reporting.

I have been reading malaysiakini daily but continue to see that news is available to everyone, even after lock-down deadline on Aug 15. Is the implementation of the subscription only service being delayed?
