As a university student, I find malaysiakini has thus far given me great insight into Malaysian news that were not reported in the local newspapers. I fully support your online publication, but I still feel that your company should not start charging the RM10 per month subscription yet.

The reason is that in our country, Internet use is not yet pervasive and many Malaysians are yet aware of your website.

Secondly, I think many people, including myself, are not in favour of paying for anything on the Internet. Maybe we need time to change our mindset.

Take CNN as an example. It has started to charge for its online video-clips but only after quite a while and after establishing its presence on the Internet. Malaysiakini , which is still relatively new, should not start charging for its content until it becomes better known among Malaysians.
