Like CH Khoo who wrote the letter Net penetration still too low to charge , I also support malaysiakini which I think is simply wonderful and remarkable.

Besides being a subscriber myself, I also encourage all my friends, colleagues and neighbours to support it by subscribing. It does not need much sacrifice on my part to do so.

I email to them, or just persuade them verbally whenever we meet for lunch, social gatherings and Sunday morning mass in church.

I am committed to the cause and realisation that every Malaysian has a duty and responsibility to protect one of the few independent fora in the country where different opinions can be exchanged responsibly and critically, and different schools of thought are allowed to flourish peacefully and intelligently.

Whether Internet penetration in Malaysia is high or low has never been a concern for me. I just do my part with a moral conviction. Moreover, in this global village, there are so many Malaysians scattered around the globe. Surely, they, more than anyone else, need a news source like malaysiakini .

Malaysiakini needs encouragement and support from everyone. Let us be a bit more charitable and not look at the small price or bicker over statistics in our quest for freedom and truth.
