The removal of MCA deputy president Lim Ah Lek as the chairperson of the disciplinary board is only the beginning of the purge of all Team B national, state and local leaders in MCA. It will certainly culminate in the selection of candidates for the parliamentary and state assembly elections.

Chua Jui Meng, Ong Tee Keat, Dr Tan Yee Kew, Yap Pian Hon and others will certainly be excluded by MCA president Dr Ling Liong Sik and his Team A, so that only Team A leaders and members are nominated.

Although Umno originally seemed to have supported Team B to unseat Ling and weaken Team A, now that Ling and Team A have proven to be in absolute control of the party's organisation, Umno will have no choice but to go along with Ling and his faction.

There is no need for Team B to ask for Umno's help and protection anymore. It is Umno which begs for MCA's help in delivering Chinese votes and raising funds for the war chest. Team B leaders can really pack up and be ready to find alternative employment in private sectors.
