I find the criticism against Kelantan Menteri Besar Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat over the 'God is a gangster' issue amusing. Especially when he said it in jest to demonstrate why it was necessary for Muslims in Malaysia to learn Arabic as some words that appear in the Quran almost cannot be translated.

I find it appalling that RTM only shows a few seconds from Nik Aziz's speech thus quoting him dreadfully out of context. Anyone who has watched American talk-shows such as those hosted by David Letterman or Jay Leno would know that by quoting public figures out of context, you can make them look daft or stupid.

If RTM lacks a sense of humour and takes what everyone says quite literally, I suggest that RTM study Culture, Arts and Tourism Minister Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzir's recent statement in which he said taxi drivers who cheat tourists should be shot dead.

Using the same standards that RTM imposes on Nik Aziz, we would have to conclude that Abdul Kadir is of unsound mind and is instigating violence, and should resign from his ministerial post without delay.
