However, the issue now is that of whether teaching Mathematics and Science in English is an effective way to improve proficiency in English language. Is it more effective than having more English classes while maintaining the students' mother tongue to teach the two subjects?

A more serious question is whether the Education Ministry and teachers are ready for such a drastic change? The majority of teachers in rural schools do not even have basic English proficiency, so how are they to use English to teach?

Why dispense with a tried and proven way of doing things to embark on an experiment where the result is still uncertain? Education is too important to subject it to such an experiment.
