I wish to paint a clearer picture of the US airports security check that was recently raised by Wangsa Maju MP Zulhasnan Rafuque at the Dewan Rakyat.

As a Malaysian Muslim working in the US, my current job as a lease auditor requires extensive travelling within the US. I want to share my experience with fellow Malaysians and want them to be aware that security officers at the US airports do not pick travellers based on skin colour, religion or how they dressed and looked.

On my travelling experiences post Sept 11, I saw all kinds of people a majority of them Americans being picked to go through more stringent checks including taking off

shoes, jackets, belts, socks, even having their luggage ransacked. So, to say that only Muslim or other immigrant travellers are being targeted by airport security officers would simply be untrue. Law and order applies to all.
