Information ministry parliamentary secretary Senator Zainuddin Maidin has put his foot in his mouth again responding to a question in Parliament on the possibility of giving opposition parties air time on state-owned TV and radio station.

As expected, the self-proclaimed Umno strategist's answer unmasked him for what he really is. In his haste and eagerness to coddle the government, he said Malaysia was not developed yet to allow the opposition any air time as is done in more developed countries.

Zam's assertion makes me wonder if he was the journalist he said he was in Utusan or was he just its errand boy. By whose authority and what brain matter does he have to say that our country is still not developed in Parliament?

He has been making a fool of himself on many occasions but the dreadful thing is that he also makes a fool of Umno and the government too. A few months ago, it was the 'big secret' but the exposé only backfired by exposing more dirt in Umno.

Now his remark that Malaysia is not developed yet has boomeranged on Umno again. By trying to belittle the opposition with his wisecrack, he has opened Umno and the government to ridicule yet again. This man really does not know what he is doing. Will someone do something before he does more damage to Umno and the government yet again?
