Malaysian Student Department UK and Eire director, Dr Kamarudin M Nor's letter No bias against 'opposition' students is very revealing of the mindset of an Umno propagandist, or an unconscious victim of Umno's propaganda.

Although he denies having any political bias against students who are sympathetic to opposition parties, his very use of the word "brainwash" to describe information sessions held by opposition parties or supporters, is indicative of his bias in the sub-conscious level.

Why doesn't he call Umno's similar activities "brainwashing", or why doesn't he term the get-together sessions held by PAS or other opposition parties "information" or "educational" activities?

Maybe after a long period of being exposed to Umno's propaganda and brainwashing, Kamarudin does not even recognise that the word "brainwashing" is not value-free. The word suggests that the user of the word opposes the contents of the information.

And on what criteria does Kamarudin oppose certain gatherings? Who set the "objective standard" of ascertaining political correctness? Umno, of course! It is that simple.
