It is with complete amusement that I read Ummi Hafilda Ali's promise to 'do the canary' and sing the supposed truth about the morals of Puteri Umno's current leader. Do an Anwar... as your headline succinctly puts it.

Whatever jitters we may have with this kind of politicking which is the typically Umno knife-you-in-the-back politics from one of their own, I think that it is poetic justice if Ummi puts her money where her mouth is!

Who knows, maybe it's money-politics rearing its head (again) within the uninspiring and degenerating Umno. Maybe it's the usual sandiwara -fare from these aspiring starlets: a book/movie deal?

When Anwar Ibrahim was booted out, Mahathir's supporters took the sodomy issue to town. They relished recounting that infamous dinner speech with diplomats and dignitaries where Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad was supposedly to have graphically explained the sodomy acts. This was well before the Anwar trials.

I must also say that these friends seen publicly as 'politically correct' personalities, had somehow left their political correctness elsewhere in condemning Anwar for his 'unnatural' sexual acts in a kind of frenzied blind support for the Anwar ouster and perhaps to close ranks to protect their own interests, be it family or business.

So bravo, Ummi! Tally-ho! Let us see what you got (to spill) and let us see how Umno shows up in this trial and tribulation scene of the Puteri Umno saga...I guess with apologies for the incumbent being the sacrificial lamb.

Azalina Othman Said could of course take the issue to court on a privacy ground which one assumes she would know, being a lawyer that is. Even better, let us embroil the court in Umno's politics of morality, sex and sin.

If these people have so much money to spend on these things, it is no wonder that the rest of us out there have to suffer the lack of basic needs and amenities.
