Judging from Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's veiled threat to MCA, it looks like the party is now on shaky ground within the Barisan Nasional coalition. Its contribution and membership to the coalition is not appreciated and unless it toes the line, it could be expelled.

The MCA of late is sick and tired from all its controversies and infighting and perhaps the BN is looking at it as a liability rather than an asset.

The Chinese have no more voice in the BN with such weak representation and the days of communal politics is heading to a dead end. Parties that offer a multi-racial, multi-ethnic alternatives look very promising and attractive and I, as a Chinese Malaysian, am quite fed up with the tune of racial politics which the BN hums all the time.

I think it is time that all Malaysians look to other parties who offer a multi-racial platform fighting for justice and the basic rule of law for all as a viable alternative for the upcoming general election.

Perhaps even the members of parliament in each of the BN component parties should consider switching to other parties like Keadilan where they are allowed to vote according to their principles and for the good of the people.
