I refer to Meng's letter Keadilan-PRM merger spells hope for new Malaysia . Meng is hopeful that the Keadilan-PRM merger will bring about some good. I beg to differ.

Keadilan, in my opinion, has never shown its sincerity and commitment in being a political party. It has not shown much interest in any of the issues that affect other Malaysians because all its energies are focused on releasing the Internal Security Act detainees and former deputy prime minister Anwar Ibrahim.

Don't get me wrong — I don't agree with the ISA, too — but Keadilan's silence on too many important matters is disconcerting.

What have they really done about the language switch issue? Have they spoken out against the deaths of detainees in police custody? Have they shown any stand in the Kg Bohol incinerator issue? What is Keadilan-PRM's stand on the Penang Outer Road Ring?

What does Keadilan-PRM truly feel about Mahathir's blatant attack on the constitution when he announced that Malaysia was an Islamic state and that it has never been otherwise?

I wish someone could provide me with a satisfactory answer as to whether Keadilan, in particular, has done enough to deserve being called a political party who cares for the people of Malaysia.
