Correct me if I am wrong. What kind of Mathematics and Science are being taught in Standard One, Form One, Matriculation and Lower Six that will fully use all those 'hi-tech toys' given giving to these subject teachers?

If possible, can someone answer the following questions:

  • How do giving teachers notebook computers and LCD projectors make them more efficient in their teaching?
  • Why pay for a LCD projector when an ordinary computer monitor that costs half as much is just as good?
  • Why pay for a notebook when a desktop is 40 percent cheaper? Notebook is useful if extensive traveling is required. If we know the computers are going to be used in classrooms, assuming the government does mean for the notebook to be an expensive tool for the teacher, why not desktop?
  • Has any research been done to justify this 'big' expenditure or is this going to be another KLIA?
  • I have been a student most of my adult life and up to this point a computer is helpful but not an essential part of the learning experience. (I do have a Master's degree in computer science.)
