I refer to Arbibi Ashoy's letter Keep paparazzi out of khalwat case .
I wonder whether Arbibi was around when the 100 percent government-controlled Malaysian press went to town to publish in full the unproven scandalous affidivits on the so-called homosexual conduct of the then deputy prime minister Anwar Ibrahim prior to his being charged in court.
And, strangely, all the newspapers thought alike that day and came out with the exact content and headlines on the Anwar fiasco. Never in the history of the local press has anything like this happened.
As a writer commented in The Star , it was "of public interest as Anwar is a public figrure."
