Give bumis the right to opt out
The police report lodged by Umno Youth really showed how much the Malays need their crutches.
Afraid that the bumiputeras might lose their rights, what Umno Youth really did was to show the world that the Malays are still left behind in every aspect, and thus they had to rely on the government for survival.
I would like to propose an idea to the government. Why don't we give individual bumiputeras the choice of revoking their rights? I am sure there are some bumiputeras out there who wants to show that they can succeed without help from the government.
Give these bumiputeras a chance to shine without crutches. And when a bumiputera revokes his/her rights (we should commemorate such event), give that privilege to a non-bumiputera who needs it. Some non-bumiputeras need crutches too.
Rather than threatening to burn down an assembly hall and (surprise, surprise) getting away with it, Umno Youth should find ways to wake the bumiputeras up from their slumber and ultimately surviving in this world without crutches.
