I have been following the letters to the editor by malaysiakini readers o­n Oon Yeoh's writing style of addressing issues in his weblog . I have to agree to a large extent that Oon Yeoh, as a journalist with access to space o­n an o­nline news website could have done a better job in addressing issues

raised by readers o­n his views. It is to malaysiakini 's credit that letters criticising Oon Yeoh were published.

Being a columnist with the privilege of an attached weblog o­nto malaysiakini , he should be well aware that he is par for the course.

But since he decided to be an opinion-giver o­n an issue such as the war o­n Iraq, his weblog had more personal diatribes against those who disagreed with him. That is unprofessional coming from a journalist. It appears that Oon Yeoh is too thin-skinned as a weblogger with a strong opinion.

I used to enjoy reading Oon Yeoh's weblog, especially when he provided links to interesting articles and news of the day with some of his cryptic comments of each.

Let's hope Oon Yeoh moves o­n, goes back to what he did best in the past, and that he has learnt his lesson: Never attack the messenger, if you don't like the message.

Meanwhile, readers can still have a choice of whether they want to read his weblog or not.
