According to the malaysiakini report, MCA Wanita chief Ng Yen Yen said she had obtained permanent residency status to facilitate her frequent travels to Australia to look after her three sons who were in their early formative years and studying there.

My first great concern is not the fact that she needed the PR, but what does she mean by sending all her three children to study in Australia? Doing so is clearly tantamount to casting a vote of non-confidence in our education system.

The second, and more serious, question is whether her children and husband are holding PR status. If the answer is yes, then it seems to imply that the family does not have confidence in Malaysia's future.

I urge acting PM Pak Lah to look into these matters seriously and find out whether Ng's children and husband hold dual residency status as well.

The third question is, if it were not for vested political interest, would she have surrendered her PR status?
