I fail to find any connection between Umno Youth's move to investigate President George W Bush's possible war crimes and the Anwar issue in Malaysia, as a displeased Matthew D Mogul laments (Malaysiakini's straight reporting misses the mark) .

As rightly clarified in the editor's note, that piece of news that touched a nerve of the US letter writer was not subject to editorialisation. Unless Hishammuddin Hussein brought up the Anwar issue during the press conference, there is no reason whatsoever for malaysiakini to mention Anwar Ibrahim in a totally unrelated topic.

However, that malaysiakini is o­ne of the few Malaysian media still closely following the Anwar case in an objective and professional manner is beyond doubt. And there is no lack of letters or opinions that are favourable to the jailed former deputy prime minister.
