I am impressed with the bravery of our Malaysian journalists to remain in Baghdad. If only they had shown more bravery in the local battlefield, to report the truth about corruption, abuse of power, censorship of their own profession, and other pressing issues of the day which are of concern to our daily lives.

In Baghdad, they seemed to be prepared for the worst, be it getting hit by a stray bullet, kidnapping or even death, but not brave enough to face ethical questions of objective reporting on local politics. They'd rather get shot and become a hero and leave widows and orphans behind rather than change jobs and stop writing untruths about anyone or anything that gets in the way of the government.

Enlighten me please - is it all for the love of journalism albeit selective journalism, or perhaps personal glory?
