I refer to Aman Rais' latest column . I wish to address the grudge of the so-called reformasi supporters for not being invited to Nurul Izzah's marriage. This event should not be turned into politics. The activist's remarks are, in my perception, unacceptable.

I am a supporter of the reformasi movement but I do not see why supporters should feel left out of Izzah's wedding. When Aman Rais says that supporters should be invited as VVIPs, does he extend this out to ALL supporters?

I do not even think supporters should be invited as VIP, let alone VVIP. This has got nothing to do with reformasi but everything to do with love and celebration. You want 'reformasi' for the way a marriage should be held?

The marriage is a day to be cherished forever by the couple and their families, and has little to do with reformasi. While no o­ne intends to create trouble at a wedding, history has shown that many such gatherings did not turn out well - whether caused by the police or the supporters themselves. So why risk this, at a wedding?

I really don't understand why reformasi supporters should complain. If it's your marriage, would you want to risk havoc, or worse, risk the father for not being able to perform his duties?

Do you actually think there are high chances for the father to be granted permission by the police to perform his duties if all supporters were invited as VVIPs and encouraged to drop by? As it was, there was a ridiculously heavy police presence that day.

The question of reformasi supporters being more istimewa should not even exist! So what if she is 'Puteri Reformasi'? Can't we leave the political issues for other days?

Forget the ' hari untuk menghargai pengorbanan semua ahli-ahli parti dan penyokong gerakan reformasi '. This can be done another day, and not the day of her marriage.

I really hope that reformasi supporters will stop holding a grudge against the family over this. Please be sensitive towards Izzah and her family. If this is how the supporters think, I wonder how we really are to fight for the cause.
