I was shocked to read that only 5.2 per cent, or 1,931 Indian Malaysians, received a place in public universities. The Indian community has always been supportive of national policies but when it comes to obtaining a place in university, we Indians are not accorded enough places.

I think this is quite unfair and something must be done to remedy this. If no effort is made to improve the situation in the near future, the Indian community may be forced to vote against the BN government in the upcoming elections.

Clearly, the BN does not seem to appreciate the support it has received from the Indian community in the last general election.

Our votes will be crucial in determining whether the BN will win any seats in racially diverse constituencies.
