My family members and I have been voting for the Barisan Nasional candidate in Ipoh in all past general elections. However, we have decided that it's time for a change and we will now give our votes to the opposition, even if it is a PAS candidate.

The reason? What's the difference between the PAS type of Islamic moral guidanceship and that of the Barisan National? PAS is at least honest and truthful and transparent with it stated aims of implementing Islamic laws and practices and we respect its stand. The Barisan Nasional, on the other hand, is a hypocrite, making promises and pronouncements that it does not keep.

A very good example if the current so-called ' moral cleansing ' in Ipoh. If the Barisan Nasional government is sincere in treating the citizens with fairness, justice and respect, then it should sack the Datuk Bandar (mayor) of Ipoh for his blatant violation of human and moral rights of the people.

Our family and relatives plus many neighbours and friends can cause substantial loss of votes for the Barisan Nasional. At the latest count, we constitute at least 120 votes. We hope all other citizens will also use their votes to get the message across that we will not tolerate such nonsense as the so-called 'moral cleansing', or any other such stupid ruling and practices.
