Especially in Malaysia, we don’t normally see politicians resigning from a top position. We should admire Persatuan Hindraf Malaysia chief P Waythamoorthy for being ethical and following servant leadership.

If you had closely followed Waytha’s speech and his political stand, he is being honest with his commitment for the Indian Malaysian community. There were many occasions when he openly mentioned that he would resign from the deputy minister role if he couldn’t fulfil his promises for the voiceless Indian Malaysian community.

Good political leaders use compassion to see the needs of those he or she leads and to determine the course of action that would be greatest benefit to all those involved. By throwing the deputy minister role, he saw himself a true benevolence which converts his awareness to wisdom of serving the voiceless Indian community in Malaysia.

This shows he possesses integrity and can be trusted because he never veers from inner values even it might benefit him by sitting as a deputy minister for few more years. I am sure Waytha has the highest standard of veracity where he has the trust of followers.

Deliberately, some of the Indian political leaders and injudicious people in Malaysia are bitterly criticising Waytha for his resignation and also hitting him hard when he joined BN for the good cause of the voiceless Indian Malaysian community.

Nevertheless, you must be covered by the dust of idiocy if you are cranky without knowing the complete facts of the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) and Waytha’s authentic intention for joining BN government. Interestingly, some feel betrayed although he clearly stonewalled his perceptions towards the voiceless Indian Malaysian plight and with strong mentality to help them.

\In fact, he had only shown interest to the political parties for the benefits of voiceless Indian Malaysians. That could be reason why he unfortunately was trapped by the vicious politicians’ mesh. When the opportunity arose for the deprived Indian Malaysian people he was openly thrilled.

He is not a person who will bend the rules or show the cracks in his armour. Those who know him closely know he sensibly indulges with burning ideas and is passionate enough to help the Indian Malaysian poor, probably this could be the reason that he decided to become a rebel from inside the BN administration.

That's much more powerful than rebelling outside the system. But Najib Abdul Razak ingeniously put him in an awkward position. These crooked politicians betray the people on the ground, pocketing the poor Indian Malaysians’ bloods and treating them like sheep.

I have known Waytha since I was 10 years old. He naturally has the conscience of helping the underprivileged communities.

When the world faced deadliest natural disaster which was affected by tsunami in 2004, Waytha enthusiastically travelled to Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu and helped the civilians’ casualties by sacrificing his money, time and energy. He spent nearly a month closely engaging with the recovery team by providing essential supplies to the affected people.

Moreover, Waytha always has an unpretentious objective for the Indian Malaysian community by organising many student motivational and religious camps, before he became fully occupied with Hindraf activities.

What’s wrong with Hindraf MOU?

At least, Waytha practically tried very hard by engaging the BN government even though other political parties disgracefully ignored the candid approach by Hindraf. For those questioning Waytha blindly, have you ever had a chance to read the Hindraf MOU with the BN regime? He and his Hindraf colleagues intentionally prepared the needful requirements for the Indian poor in Malaysia.

What’s wrong with it? If you’re thinking Umno-BN is not the right choice then why did other political parties remain concealed during that time?

Fair enough, just forget about Waytha for now, what about other Indian political leaders from the infamous political coalition party (PKR)? What sort of strategies and synergies have they inclined with Anwar Ibrahim to upraise the Indian community in Malaysia at the moment? Are they brave enough to show the results in the media publically?

Please understand, Waytha is just an ordinary individual who finds the strength to withstand and endure in spite of irresistible difficulties. Waytha, you’re a true hero!
