Dismiss irresponsible police officers
Like many grieving Malaysians, I am strongly disturbed by the abduction and murder of Canny Ong, even though the main suspect has been arrested.
Other than the security of the basement car park, what shocked me most was the attitude of the two police officers who saw Canny's Proton Tiara parked along Jalan Subang on June 13, after the abduction.
According to news reports, two police officers who were patrolling Jalan Subang that night. They saw a parked Proton Tiara on the roadside with a man and a young lady inside. When the officers asked the man for his IC, he gave it and immediately drove away.
As we all know, this kind of action can be considered as provoking a police officer and is considered a crime. But why was no action taken by the police following the incident?
It was only until Canny's body and car were found in Jalan Klang Lama that the policemen involved realised that the man might be the abductor.
The way the officers handled this situation was totally unprofessional and unacceptable. A police officer who fails to carry out his/her duty and to protect the lives and safety of citizens has no right to be paid by the taxes collected from citizens.
Their services should be terminated. We do not need such irresponsible policing.
