DAP deputy publicity chief Teo Nie Ching’s Twitter message in the Chinese language that the “whole world searching for airlines, Najib searches for chickens. Fantastic” has caused an uproar given its inappropriate nature.

Nie Ching should not have descended to form improper practices against her political opponent. This conduct contrasts from the demeanour expected from an elected representative.

As a federal lawmaker, her choice of words could have been considerate. Nie Ching has failed to make any concrete contributions at this critical juncture. Instead, she has seized on this opportunity to mock her political rivals. Such behaviour is unkind.

I urge Pakatan elected representatives to be mindful that just because they might have found favour with some segments of society, they should not assume that they can simply spout any form of comments for granted. I hope Nie Ching is able to reflect on her insensitive words and make the necessary corrections.
