KS Ong thinks it absolutely bloody-minded for the police to take no interests in an anti-crime forum. I agree. Even when they do turn up, the not unexpected response is that nothing can be done.

In fact, in a forum in my neighbourhood, the police recommended a private security services firm, as the police could do little to alleviate the problems.

The firm then proceeded to canvass for subscribers, proudly referring to police endorsements of their services. Makes you wonder what is becoming of our public services.

The police response at that time was attributed to the lack of manpower.

As most of us suspect however, it is the sheer incompetent or irresponsible (or both) allocation of resources which is the source of the problem, as almost always VIPS are well manned by police security presence.
