At first, MCA Penang chairperson Wong Kam Hoong publicly said that until proven guilty, triad taiko Ong King Ee aka 'Jacky Chan' would not be sacked from MCA.

Now, the MCA has suspended the criminal's membership. Why the change of position?

Is it because of media pressures mounted by Umno and Gerakan? If that is the case, MCA under the new leadership of party president Ong Ka Ting and deputy Chan Kong Choy has no more political credibility as the second largest party in the Barisan Nasional. It is merely a puppet of Umno and its minion, Gerakan.

What shocks me the most, however, is that Ong has no courage to sue the Malay Mail for suggesting that he is somehow linked to 'Jacky Chan' by publishing the photographs of the two together.

If Ong is clean and clear, he should instruct MCA's lawyers to sue Malay Mail for libel. Otherwise, the stigma will be stuck for a long, long time to come.
