Disability not a defence for breaking rules
I have read the letter entitled 'Complaint against the conduct of parish priest' by Francis Siva, ILTC.
I came to the conclusion that the parish priest has the right to ask to leave the church grounds as the group did not get his approval to conduct fundraising in the church compound.
Throughout his letter Francis Siva kept highlighting the fact they were "a group of disabled people on wheelchairs trying to conduct a peaceful fundraising."
Is he trying to say that just because they are disabled people on wheelchair, they can do as they like? That disabled people do not need to abide by any rules?
The core of the matter is, they did not get "any letter of permission to raise funds" in the church grounds, so they have no business raising funds in the church grounds.
I am a parishioner of St. Anne's Church, Bukit Mertajam and I am writing in my personal capacity.
