I am disappointed with the level of intelligence or the lack of it by some of the respondents in Jeff Ooi's blog to potentially emotive and sensitive subjects like Islam.

Although malaysiakini has been very sensible about its own editorial policy, I feel that Jeff's blog has not been so carefully screened.

I would consider some of the shorter responses to the ' ignoramus ' thread in the blog as mocking in tone, insulting and demeaning.

I am not at all suggesting that Jeff is a bigot but some of the respondents to his blog should certainly pause to think and analyse their own prejudices and ignorance about the subject of Islam before they write anything.

The blog gives Muslim readers of malaysiakini a very distorted and negative impression about how and what non-Muslims in Malaysia think and feel about Islam.

I fail to see how short one or two sentence simplistic and distorted replies to Jeff's blog is going to further constructive meaningful dialogue between the races or religions in this country. Cheap pot shots are a sure sign of immaturity, insecurity, and stupidity.

Going by some of the more idiotic replies on that blog, I feel shamed by the behaviour of some very immature non-Muslims in this country.

I can well understand why some Muslim readers might accuse malaysiakini of being anti-Islam, and urge malaysiakini to terminate the blog altogether if a more stringent editorial policy cannot be enacted for whatever reason.

I am sorry if I sound elitist but I sincerely believe we should only post intelligent and educated replies on the malaysiakini website which is by far my favourite source of news and views in any media in any country.
