Non-Muslims in this country, fortunately, are not as naive and gullible as Arbibi Ashoy would like them to be. They may not equate PAS with the Taliban, but they certainly will not welcome PAS with open arms just because the party, like all opposition parties, plans to do away with certain legislation like the Internal Security Act, if they win the election.

DAP and PRM have been using the same battle cry for decades. Why have the Malay voters in general not welcomed them with open arms?

I agree with LJ that the main issue is that PAS wants to make the Quran the supreme law of the land. Sure, its leaders can declare five times a day that PAS will respect the federal constitution and will not abolish the present parliamentary system.

Can any PAS leader or its supporters who frequently contribute letters to malaysiakini deny that all the political party wants is to make the Quran and Hadith the supreme law of the land?
