Radical Zionists are certainly to be condemned for the atrocities they have committed, and are still committing against Palestine.

However, not all Jews are radical Zionists. There are even anti-Zionist Jews such as Noam Chomsky. Neither are all Palestinians Muslims for there are many Christians among Palestinians, such as Arafat's wife, Suha Arafat and her family.

For Dr Mahathir Mohamad to pit Muslims against Jews is therefore irresponsible. He and his racist government deserve to be condemned without qualification.

It is also not the first time such simplistic but dangerous stereotypes are presented as 'facts'. Not too long ago, Mahathir attacked what he called "the European race", as if there is one. A few years ago, he equated Chinese with "communists", and in his controversial book, The Malay Dilemma , he wrote of the "predatory Chinese" as well as the "hook-nosed Jews".

For him, the majority of Malays or Muslims who are not supportive to, or agree with him are all "fanatics", "backward", "traitors", "Western agents" or "homosexuals".
