I would like to respond to Blue Rider who accused malaysiakini of practising bad journalism. Firstly, I'd like to quote the Malay idiom: Siapa makan cili, rasa pedas . The Chinese version says "A man who has a devil in his heart, sees devils everywhere".

In short, a person who has a negative mindset that is filled with racist sentiments will see "bashing" everywhere.

In essence, malaysiakini is practising "bad journalism" in comparison to the mundane national newspapers because it has a different brain - it does not parrot government leaders all the way.

It doesn't have lapdog reporters and its owners believe in freedom of the press and free speech (stretching this as much as possible not to breach the Sedition Act and all the other restrictions deemed as national threat to racial harmony, etc).

Like a rose planted in a cow dung, malaysiakini certainly is not acceptable because it does not shirk from dealing with the reality of burning national issues. Letters sent to the editor are published according to the simple criteria of public interest and a dose of intelligent opinion. Many of these letters would probably be thrown into wastepaper baskets in other newsrooms because of its contents that may not be in line with their editorial policy.

A half filled glass of water can be perceived as half empty too! Let intelligent readers make their own conclusions. Fools had better keep away, before they eat their hearts out.
