I find the letter by Mr Mohd Amin of London on the possibility of Umno capitalising on the OIC meeting held in KL to win over the Malay ground a very balanced and analytically refreshing piece of work.

I believe most non-Malays would concur with him and possibly wish that such enlightened ideas can flourish in most Malay minds.

However, the sad fact is that there are, I believe, not many such Malays around who can take the lead to get Malaysia out of its present predicament. This is really a pity as Malaysia is such a wonderful place if only there is good governance which enables all people, regardless of race, language or religion, a level-playing field to pursue their dreams or enterprises, without being treated unfairly or unjustly.

We could only hope that more Mohd Amins could be replicated or cloned to take Malaysia onto the path to prosperity as we never know it.

This is possible as the three main Asian civilisations are present in this tanah air (motherland) which form the foundation on which the yearned paradise could be built.
