We have learnt through a Spanish newspaper that a Spanish bullfighter recorded a TV advert for a juice-based drink in Kuala Lumpur. The advert shows a bullfight.

You should be aware that bullfights are spectacles of extreme cruelty where bulls and horses are tortured in the name of entertainment.

According to this Spanish matador, Malaysia is a promising country for the import of this 'sport' and people are receptive to this kind of torture.

We do not believe that a country like Malaysia can be receptive to torture of animals. Therefore, we kindly request that you don't allow these spectacles to be introduced into your country.

Bullfights dehumanise people and are conducive to violence. This has an effect on society both in the short and long term in that people have less respect for other human beings - those who do not respect animals cannot respect humans.
