It has been reported that the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) has denied raiding or disrupting a wedding ceremony at a Hindu temple in Petaling Jaya on suspicion that the bride was a Muslim. Jais deputy director-general Ahmad Zaki Arshad said they were only investigating complaints from the public and took a statement from the bride to ascertain her religious status.

Ahmad Zaki, tolong jangan memperbodohkan masyarakat . Please don’t fool the people.

When your men walked into the wedding ceremony with police escorts and took away the bride for “questioning”, you arrested the bride. It is not a joking matter. Even if you claim to have the authority to “question” a person suspected of leaving Islam, the manner you did it was uncouth to say the least. The bride was not about to fly out of Malaysia at that moment.

Jais is acting like a spoilt child that has been given face ( di beri muka ) by its masters. Jais was not appointed by God, but by the government which in turn is elected by the people. As such, Jais is answerable to the people for what it does.

The uncouth boldness of Jais to do as it wishes is due to the fact that those who appointed Jais are not keeping it under check. It has been let loose to do what it likes, as it likes. The political masters who created these bodies are the ones letting them do what they like.  

Who entrusted Jais and the like with the duty to ensure no Muslim walks out of Islam? If the Prophet did not command that everyone in sight must be made a Muslim, by the sword if need be, then who are Jais and the like to act with more authority than the Prophet?

Did the Prophet divide his followers into Sunnis and Shiites, with the Sunnis told that they cannot opt out of Islam while the Shiites are free to do so?

If this is not from the Prophet, then it is purely political, for political power by controlling the people’s minds under cover of religion.
