I refer to RK Anand's article 'See you in court, Mr Prime Minister' published in Malaysiakini on June 5, 2014.

RK Anand's article is teeming with the purest hypocrisy because he has conveniently omitted the fact that Malaysiakini is part of the new media and backed by National Endowment for Democracy (NED).

As part of the guilty pack, he still has the cheek to write: "Many journalists, who once did the bidding of political masters under the old regime, are now part of the new media, where portals mushroom with increasing pace backed by tycoons with deep pockets, championing press freedom and penning articles critical of the establishment. It is a laudable development that these individuals, some in their twilight years, have found their voices at long last."

Evidence:

In 2013, KiniTV Sdn Bhd received US$34,700 from NED to strengthen and expand the reach of independent media in Malaysia. KiniTV Sdn Bhd will support an online video hub that provides professional and responsible coverage of issues and news unreported or distorted by the mainstream media.

In 2012, Mkini Dotcom Sdn Bhd received US$100,000 from NED to strengthen independent media in Malaysia. Mkini Dotcom Sdn Bhd will support an online media outlet that provides professional and responsible coverage of issues and news often ignored or distorted by the mainstream media.

In 2011: Mkini Dotcom Sdn Bhd received US$100,000 from NED.

In 2010: Mkini Dotcom Sdn Bhd received US$100,000 from NED.

For heaven's sake RK Anand, save your horrifying chronological take of how three consecutive prime ministers had a hand in the changing face of democratic space.

You have an incurable credibility and integrity deficiency.

Stop calling others apple polishers when you are busy carrying your master's balls regardless of how heavy!

Stop condemning your prime minister so disrespectfully. You don't even have the balls to state his name for fear that he will slap a defamation suit on you. Instead, you meekly chose to refer to the prime minister as the “self-proclaimed reformer (who) is backpedaling on his word.”

Most disgustingly, you don't even have the guts to refer to the apple polisher by name and yet strut as the greatest pretender of all time by condemning him and referring to him as “no stranger to the subject of aggression.”

“He is, after all, leader of a mob of potential arsonists and martial arts exponents who have demonstrated their bravado outside a number of DAP offices,” you wrote.

If you don't have the balls to state their names, then you have no moral right to stand by that byline in Malaysiakini , which should retract this article and let you curl into a corner to lick your wounds.

For your information, regardless of whether you mentioned their names or not, the fact remains that this article is suspect in intent, motivation and reeks with a malicious agenda.

Stop using cliches such as “nation bled”, “elegant selfies” or even alliteration such as “president and panda bears”.

You have failed to realise that you lack a conscience and the accountability factor.

Shame on you and your editors who allowed such gutter journalism to be displayed in this portal.

But it is no surprise. After all, you have to answer to your masters abroad.

Will we see you in court as well, RK Anand, if those whose names you dare not mention slap a writ of summons on you?

We'll see.

Editor's Note: Malaysiakini has previously  explained the NED funding, which went to support Seacem to help civil society and fledgling online media organisations in Asia use new technologies to promote press freedom, human rights and democracy.
