Do you know that to pay compound fines for traffic offences, I was given 2 choices by the roadside. Pay now at RM50. Or, if I were to go to PJ state's (new town) traffic police station, it will be RM300.

I went to the station to pay at the counter and was told that to pay lower, I have to go to another counter to appeal. On appeal I was told to pay RM150 and was asked to come back next week to collect the receipt. I collected the receipt and it shows RM100. Malaysia Boleh !

I took up driving in 1970, and in those days, when the police asked for bribes, they will feel very shy and hide their deeds rather than doing it openly. Is this the Malaysia Boleh we want? We are progressing towards the standard of Indonesia - where I was once openly asked by an immigration officer for money at the counter in 1991.

Where is the list of fines to show the public how much they must pay for specific offences, and can the government make it reasonable so the public would not mind paying rather than bribe the police?

On retirement I do not mind becoming an unpaid police constable and take bribes as income.
