I refer to MK's letter that Pendidikan Moral is still an essential subject and would point out that moral values are not value-free: they reflect the worldview that propagates them.

Thus non-Muslims are uncomfortably aware that when their children are taught the so-called Pendidikan Moral in national schools, it is the Islamic worldview and its pre-suppositions which are assumed as true, to the exclusion and negation of the philosophy and ethics of their own religions.

In any case, the pedagogy involved in the teaching this subject in our schools leaves much to be desired.
