The 'study tour' syndrome of municipal councils has reached scandalous levels. Every year we hear teams of councillors and their entourage going all over the world "to learn" from more advanced councils.

Last year there was Penang, I believe. This year is Alor Gajah . The Kuching City North senior officials make annual pilgrimages to Australia for study tours. How many more councils in Malaysia are doing the same thing?

Malaysiakini should conduct a survey. It is easy enough to find out. Such tours are no secret in the councils, so any employee can give you the details (with disgust).
