I refer to the letter by Dulu Umno Sekarang PAS. I am of the view that his observation of the DAP campaign is totally wrong and is out of context. What DAP is advocating is against the formation of an Islamic state as proposed by the PAS government.

PAS is an Islamic political party in a democracy. As in all democratic governments, their actions, manifestos or stands are open to scrutiny and criticism. Just as PAS has the right to propagate their political views on an Islamic state, so also the DAP has the equal right to criticise and oppose such a stand by PAS.

The campaign by the DAP that is against an Islamic state cannot be interpreted as anti-Islam. PAS chose to use the Islamic religion as its platform to dabble into politics, it will then have to take the criticism from all quarters.

Leave religion out of politics and I am sure you do not see such criticism as anti-Islamic.
