DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng should be ridiculed for being unable to prevent PAS being adamant to introduce hudud law, as opposed to MCA’s position which is steadfast in opposing the implementation of the said religious-based criminal code. Our two parties’ approach is completely distinct.

Guan Eng obviously fails to comprehend the entire situation and to date, is still unaware of MCA’s position. Even DAP’s stance over the enforcement of hudud law is unclear. DAP does not dare to confront PAS, and has to conjure an imaginary enemy from MCA. Bent on attacking MCA, DAP even rejects evidence of hudud law from PAS.

Despite PAS insistence to implement hudud law and the public outrage that ensued, DAP has been completely helpless in the entire situation which has fueled PAS to accelerate their pace and determination to impose hudud law.

If DAP rejects hudud law, they should stand up and protest against this religious-based criminal code during Pakatan’s supreme council meeting, and compel PAS to abandon its plan to enforce hudud law although in public, DAP states their position on hudud law and claims that they can do a lot of things. But for their own political interests, DAP has no intention to reverse the situation and instead, allows the situation to worsen.

Rather than taking up time criticising MCA, DAP should come forward and once and for all put a stop to the moves by PAS to table a Private Member’s Bill to implement hudud law in order for the public to see DAP’s determination to balance out PAS.

Despite being the largest party within Pakatan - with 37 Members of Parliament - within their Pakatan alliance, dare DAP say they share equal footing with PAS which has only 21 MPs?
