I refer to Farish A Noor's article , 'Another American crony-dictator recalled to the 'factory'' and must say that I am shocked to read exactly the same writing in the Umno-controlled New Straits Times on the same day. I am not suggesting that Farish cannot write for malaysiakini or New Straits Times simultaneously. Readers can judge for themselves the politics behind brave words and images.

The question is whether it is ethical for a writer to write one article, but contribute to two or more newspapers at the same time? Of course, Farish is not the first person to do so. Chandra Muzaffar's article in malaysiakini , 'Taxing away poverty' (Dec 9) also appeared in the Umno-controlled New Straits Times and the MCA-owned Star .

If these writers have no problem in gaining access to the propaganda broadsheet of Umno and MCA, then the precious space and resources of malaysiakini should have been more productively reserved for those who are excluded by party-sponsored media.

My objection to the practice of Farish and Chandra is that they seem to be engaging in some kind of organised anti-American and anti-Western propaganda by repeating the same arguments, word for word, in all newspapers.
